Here's another upcycle project for National Earth Month! My husbands birthday was a couple of days ago so I altered a cigar box for him since he can't ever find his keys, watch, and wallet! :)
Now he's the kind of man that doesn't like things to be too busy so I tried to keep this really clean and show majority of the wood. I chose to go with "No. 1 DAD" because of course the kids wanted to share in the giving process but not the making! LOL
Now the tag I actually received in a tag swap, but I can't remember the crafters name. I lined the inside bottom with some brown felt, but forgot to take a pic. :(
For this section all I can say is layer, layer, layer! :) I was really trying to get more color on the box without doing too much for his taste. Happy Birthday Sweetie! :) Thanks for looking everyone!

Altered Containers by Ms. Pebbles
Here's an upcycle project for National Earth Month! These containers are perfect for holding my smaller, loose embellishments especially once I cant find the original packing anymore! :)
I altered vegetable spread containers, large and small as well as peanut containers.
For the most part I chose to alter them with a theme or color scheme so I could readily know what I have stored inside without having to open every one. :)
With just some card stock, embellishments and sealer, this upcycle project is not only fun but functional as well!

Altered mini frame by Ms. Pebbles
Hello everyone! The last project I did (Altered Nesting Boxes), I used some Distress Crackle paint and I really like how it turned out. So I decided to give it a try on mini frame that I have had sitting in my craft room for a couple of years now that I purchased from the dollar store!
This 3x5 frame started with a silver, shiny almost chrome like finish on it. I applied a coat of white Gesso first to prep it for the acrylic paint and let it dry completely. Then I painted a coat of pink acrylic paint over the entire frame and allowed it to dry. Now comes the fun part! I painted the frame with Distress Crackle paint and set it aside to dry. Waiting for it to dry was the hardest part! :) I really love how this turned out! The pink barely showing through the cracks really makes it pop! Then to embellish it, I just grabbed a flower from my stash and stick pin to match and hot glued them in place.

Altered Nesting Boxes by Ms. Pebbles
Happy National Craft Month!!! I've decided to alter some nesting wooden boxes. This project was fun and easier than ever!
The hardest thing about altering these cute boxes was decided whether to go with paint or paper to cover them...
So I did a combination of both! By using a coordinating paper pack from My Mind's Eye, all I had to do was use a coordinating paint and decided to go with Distress Crackle paint.
For the large box I used all paper to cover it. I inked the edges with Distress Ink Tea Dye and this is the only box top that I used a dimensional embellishment because the other tops would not be able to nest if they weren't flat embellishments.
On the medium box, I used the combination of covering 2 of the sides and the lid with Gesso and then Distress Crackle paint. I love the shabby chic look of crackle paint!
The smallest box I used all paper again, but this time I used the same pattern on all 4 sides and inked the edges with Distress Ink Tea Dye. I also used a piece of the pattern paper to cover the top and just used Stickles to embellish it!
Here's a list of products you can use to alter some boxes:

Teacher's rock!
Hello everyone! Today I made a card for youngest darling daughter Sunshyne's teacher, using My Mind's Eye School Daze paper pad!
I wanted to do a little something for her to let her know that I appreciate the extra help she gives my daughter.
The sentiment says, "Teachers make the little ones count". I love how everything coordinates so well with this pad. I only added 3 pieces of solid card stock from my stash to create this card.
After fussy cutting the pencil out, I used my alphabet rubber stamps with some embossing ink to add little extra touch.
Thanks for looking and here's a list of items you can use to make a card like this. Remember, if we are out, ask Kim if she can order it for you. :)

Altered Box by Pebbles
My first wooden box!
I was in my local Dollar Tree, and I came
across a couple of little wooden boxes. They measure a little over 3.5x3.5, and
they have hinges on them as well as a little small magnet to keep it closed. I
grabbed them up and figured I would eventual do something with them...couldn't
leave them there, especially only costing a $1.00 a piece! Sorry for all the pics, but I wanted to capture as
much detail as possible. :)
This is the natural box when I bought it.
Nice and clean!
I used some alcohol ink to kind of stain the box.
As you can see, my fingers were pretty orange by the time I was done! I'm a
hands on kind of girl! :)
I used my Prima
Paper Pad-Annalee collection on the top and both layers all around the box.
I used some Color
me Crazy flowers on the top of the box for the start of my embellishment
process. I inked the bottom flower with Glimmer
Mist. I inked the second one lightly with a orange
ink pad and then adorned it with a small crochet flower and added a pearl
bead in the center. The rest of my embellishments, are from my stash from
previous projects.
Trying to be a little more creative, I added some
large beads to the bottom as feet! I had a ball creating this! Thanks for
looking!

Mousetrap Message Holders by Pebbles
Hello everyone! A friend of mine let me in on the most creative thing I've
seen in a while! The Mousetrap Message Holders!!!
I know some of you have
probably already heard of these before but they are new to me and I've been
having a ball creating these today! I first painted my background, then I used
my Prima
Paper Pad-Annalee collection at the bottom as well as the quote at the top.
I tore the bottom piece and inked the edges.
I also enhanced the flowers on the paper with Diamond Stickles and Fruit Punch Stickles. To add dimension to the quote, I used Glossy Accents to cover. A couple of more embellishments, and viola! :)

On this next one I colored my background black and decided to go a little
masculine. I call this one "Honey Do List".
I used Graphic 45-Olde Curiosity Shoppe papers, tearing and cutting out symbols. I added Glossy Accents to the "HONEY" on the bottle to tie into the title Honey Do List! I also added 5 black Kaisercraft self-adhesive rhinestones.

I put magnets on the back of both so the option to put them on the fridge
is there! Thanks for looking! :)

Large Mother's Day Card by Pebbles
My Mom and I were talking last week about some of the cards I have given
her over the years and we remembered years ago I gave her one of those GIANT
cards that you have to sit on the floor to display! LOL
So this year for Mother's Day I thought I would make her a not so giant
card but a large one! I started by double matting a piece of printed paper from
Prima
Madeline collection. After that, I used my Spellbinders
Labels One on the same card stock as the matting, inked the edges and
stamped it with the same brown ink, then I added a little bow I made at the
bottom.
To enhance the paper a little, I used some Cinnamon,
Fruit
Punch and Diamond
Stickles on the flowers in both corners. I also added some sky blue pearls
at the bottom of the card. Thanks for looking and I hope you had a wonderful
Mother's Day!

Olde Curiosity Shoppe Layout by Pebbles
I made this layout using the Graphic 45 12x12 Olde Curiosity Shoppe Collection.
Starting with the 12x12 Olde Curiosity Shoppe paper as the background, I used a
piece of 12x12 black card stock and used a circle template to draw a 10 inch
circle. But rather cutting the circle with scissors, I tore it by hand. I then
inked the edges with some brown ink.
Then I cut a 9 inch circle using some wavy scissors from the 12x12 Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe-Genuine Article paper to place on top of the black card stock.
You will also find inside the 12x12 Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe double-sided paper pad, the Optical Oddities and Bazaar of Wonders papers which I used for my next two layers, cutting them in squares and rectangles.
To somewhat, frame the photo, I added some flowers from my stash, cut some strips of the Bazaar of Wonders paper and added some Finesse Swirls-Black Rhinestones actually on the photo. Just adding a few embellishments, enhanced the layout without making it overwhelming. Thanks for looking!

Accordian Birthday Card by Pebbles
I made this card for my sisters birthday. She is always inspiring and
encouraging me, so I wanted to do something extra special for her this year.
Something that is just as bright and cheerful as her personality! I started
with the base construction using 3 different, bright colored pieces of card
stock. I made the flower embellishment using my eCraft Basic 12-Purpleberry,
cutting out the circle, the pink flower background and the daisy. I used a Say it Pearls Flower Center to embellish the center of the flower. I applied Fruit Punch Stickles as a border and Firefly Stickles as some accent dots around the
flower.
For the inside left panel, I used the Fruit Punch Stickles again as a
border around the butterfly and the word "Happy". I also used my eCraft Basic 12-Purpleberry to cut the butterfly and accented it with a couple of
rhinestones.
For the inside center panel I used some printed patterned paper and
a couple of dimensional birthday stickers to suit the theme of the card.
For the
inside right panel, I applied Diamond Stickles as a border and used some printed
paper and card stock to match. Here is the completed card.
This was a very fun and festive card to make, I hope she likes
it!
Thanks for looking! :)
