Vintage Americana by Laura C

I just love anything "Americana". I especially love items with a
vintage feel to them....love that "country" style.  This project
takes a $1 sign from the dollar store, and makes it into a
piece of vintage Americana decor.

The piece started like this:

If you look in the upper right corner of the sign....
I started inking it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
The entire surface was covered.  Next step:

I used Tim Holtz Tissue tape on the white stripes....
and trimmed it to fit, to get this:

The next step was to rub over the tissue tape with
more of the Vintage Photo Ink, and then painting
the entire piece with Rock Candy Crackle paint. 
After it dried, I used more Distress Ink....this time
I dabbed on some of the Walnut Stain to leave this
finished project:

A few pieces of the Rock Candy flaked off to give it
a true "vintage" feel....LOVE the way it turned out!
I did finish it off with a coat of spray sealer to make
sure everything stayed put.

Endless Card by Ms. Pebbles

Today I made what some like to call a "Endless Card" or the "Never Ending Card", using the Echo Park Country Drive Collection Kit.

Because this card has a series of folds/openings, here's a quick video I did to demonstrate how it works and some of the products I used to embellish it that you can order from Cutters Creek. Enjoy!

Center Step Card Tutorial By Deanna M

I have a fun new card for you today. At least new to me. It is called a Center Step Card or Front Panel Card.  The card will fit in an A2 size envelope and was a lot of fun to make. All of my papers are from Echo Park. I apologize for the dark picture a big gray cloud decided to cover up the sun just as I started taking pictures. I attached all of my paper down with my ATG Gun.

My cupcake was cut from the Straight From the Nest cartridge (which Kim can order for you if you want it) at 2 3/4". Because the little holes for the sprinkles were so small I opted to add some liquid pearls in Hydrangea  and Key Lime to them instead. I attached my cupcake to my card with an action wobble.

4th of July Wreath Tutorial by Tee

Happy Tuesday to you. Can you believe 4th of July is just around the corner? I love decorating my house and wanted a wreath for my front door. I saw a few cone wreaths online and just feel in love with how cute they are and how easy it is to put together...... Let me show you.

Begin by cutting 16 6x6 and 16 6x4 pieces double sided papers. Ink the edges as shown below.

Roll each piece of paper into cones and glue with Scotch Quick Dry or use a Glue Gun.

I used my ecraft to cut a 10.75" circle in chipboard. If you don't have chipboard you can layer two or three sheets of cardstock. Also cut a 6" circle and glue to the center of the chipboard. Begin placing your 6x6 cones. I added 4 cones as seen here then filled in as needed. 

 

 Continuing adding all the cones.

Add the 4x6 cones filling in the gaps as seen here.

Add a title to the center.I used silver stickles to add bling to the blue star and Glossy Accents to the 4th of July title. Hard to see in this picture but I also added 3 rhinestones above the title then finished it off with ribbon.

Cut another 10.75 circle and add your ribbon to the back and glue to the back of the chipboard to finish it off and have a way of hanging your wreath.

Here is the finished product. Cute huh?

July 4 Layout with Lori

Have you tried any of the Echo Park Mini Theme collections yet?  These collections are great, because you can get one to match a specific event and not worry about having a bunch of product left over.  Now if you're like me and take a lot of pictures of everything, these are easy to stretch into several layouts as well!  Every kit has 6 double-sided papers (2 of each pattern combo) and a 6x12 sheet of element stickers.  Add some coordinating cardstock and you have everything you need.  Or, if you're like me, add a few extra touches and your layout will shine!

July 4th is more than just one day for me.  My hometown celebrates for an entire weekend, and we have a family reunion that Sunday.  So lots of pictures of course!  To make my papers stretch, and really help my photos stand out, I like to use a cardstock base in a coordinating color and use smaller pieces of the patterns.  Doing this also speeds me up as I don't feel the need to use photo mats like I normally would when I use larger amounts of pattern.

While the layout has a simple design, it doesn't have to look basic.  I glued down some chipboard brackets from my stash using Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive.  I coated both brackets in Silver Stickles, and also used them to outline the stickers I used for my title.  Then I pulled out some Distress Stickles in Fired Brick and Faded Jeans, and alternated the colors to outline the circles in my design.  After drying, it's all ready to be put in a scrapbook.

Today I bring you a card made with the cutest digital image by La La Land called Heart Balloon Marcie.  I colored her and the balloon using Prisma Colored Pencils and the Gamsol technique. The papers used to make the flower, pleated ribbon and base of the card are by Prima called Fairy Flora.  Cutters Creeks Store does not carry the Fairy Flora Paper Pad but there are other paper pads by Prima that are just as pretty. Check them out!

The pretty bling surrounding Marcie and the center of the flower were made using Liquid Pearls, Petal Pink by Ranger.  If you haven’t tried liquid pearls you just need to buy at least one color, your favorite color,  and use it on your creations.  It is so versatile too. Besides using it on paper it can be used on fabric too. You can use it straight from the bottle, paint it on with a brush, or dilute it with water to use as a glaze. 

The flower was made using a Spellbinders Die called Rose Creations (it comes with 9 die templates).  And I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad on the petal edges of the flower. Check out all the other beautiful shades in the Distress Ink Pad line.

TIP:  When I cut out the image and a balloon is involved; I cut away the drawn black string and replace it with black thread.

My Mind's Eye Meets Tim Holtz

It is so funny that the older I get, the more set in my ways I become.  However as far as crafting and creating go, I so want to grow and learn new stuff.  So.........I decided to go out of my comfort zone and do and altered art project.  For my project today, I created and altered a Tim Holtz configuration box.  I have to admit I was a bit intimidated however I jumped in with both feet and started creating!  I actually had a lot of fun doing this and I think it turned out pretty darn good for the first time doing this.  So here is what the box looks like when you get it:

It has a nice lid with a clear sheet that you can use or not use depending if you want your items to stick out of the box a bit.  Here is a photo of the box using My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad Follow Your Heart Be Happy to cover the interior of all the little boxes:

And then the side view using the newest My Mind's Eye paper release, Indie Chic Citron which I inked up a bit to distress it a tad more: 

Here is my configuration box with the Tim Holtz tissue tape added which keeps all those little boxes in place:

And finally adding some odds and ends into my box with a hot glue gun.  I used a few of Tim's corked vials to add some Suze Weinburgs beadazzles and beads.  I also used Flower Soft to fill my vase with flowers and some Prima flowers and embellishments.  There is also one of Tim Holtz's word keys in there, an Anna Griffin embellishment, a stick pin that I made and much more:

I hope you enjoyed my project!  I also hope that I have inspired those that are afraid to paper craft out of their comfort zone will give it a whirl.  I really has a lot of fun making this item and now I think I would love to do more projects like this as this would make a really great gift!
