Vicki's Wild Christmas Card

Vicki is officially a girl after my own heart! Let me explain. I LOVE to send out handmade Christmas cards. The only problem is that when I start counting Friends, Family and Colleges, the number of cards I need quickly stretches to well over 300! (My hand hurt for a week after addressing wedding invites.) So, when planning what I want to do, I have to keep it simple. The challenge is finding an easy-to-make option that still has that touch of class that makes it special.

This is why I am so in love with this card! First, I LOVE my Cricut. And the Wild Card Cartridge is one of my favorite ones that they have put out. Not only can you cut pretty much any type of card that you can think of, but each card also has a matching envelope! In fact, the card pictured here is actually created from one of the envelop cut outs. The opportunities are endless my friends. But don't take my word for it! Check out the non-traditional way that this card opens. I love the papers that Vicki has chosen! How cute would it be to open this card to reveal a sweet pic of your family? You could also print out a Christmas message onto the red paper before you attached it. Then, as the card unfolded, your loved ones would be treated to Holiday Greetings as they looked at your smiling faces. So perfect!

With this card Vicki has done a great job of showing us how your Cricut can make your crafting life easier. She has also shown how you can take a blank card face, and using the supplies that you have on hand, give it personality and "pop!"

By using Stickles to create the Garland and Star, Vicki has made her tree sparkle. (Which is just what a Christmas Tree should do!) Then, she dusted the edges of the tree with Angel Wings Shimmerz. For a finishing touch, Vicki hand colored clear Twinkle Jewels with her Copic makers to get the perfect shade of red. Then, she just attached them to her card with clear adhesive. The results? A super cute Christmas Card that anyone would love to find in their mailbox!

Another idea would be to let your kiddos decorate the trees so that each person got something truly unique and special!

If you have any questions for Vicki about her Wild Christmas Card or about the techniques that she used, just ask! She will be happy to get back with you.

Now I have the urge to break out my Cricut and Wild Card Cartridge and see what wonderful cards I can create. I still have to make two cards today for my Mail lady and my Hair Stylist, I think this idea will be perfect!

I love the papers you chose and all the 'Bling', too. I also really like how the card opens and think it makes it very unique and fun. You have inspired me for sure!
